WCJJO JuJitsu World Championships

It is imperative that you get your rooms booked right away!  If you wait until after the 23rd, most hotel prices in Las Vegas go higher and higher as you get closer to your trip.  Our prices are locked in only until the 23rd.

The venue is The Flamingo Hotel and will take place from September 23 thru September 27, 2010.  The event is being held under the auspices of the WCJJO and USA JuJitsu.  All relevant rules and procedures will apply.

Prof LL Cary, USA Director, and the US team is looking forward to competing against the attending countries!  It’s understood that each country will try to bring some officials.  US will have several officials as well.  So far, many teams have confirmed including US, Canada, Australia, England and Ireland! From each of these teams, can I please get a number of people attending so we can let the Flamingo know for the banquet?  If there is a team coming that is not on here, please let us know right away as well as how many you have!

Many people have found slightly cheaper places to stay but I will warn you that by the time you pay for cab fare and other necessary arrangements, your cost will be much higher than staying at the host Hotel.  Also, keep in mind that when you stay at another hotel, you will have to get up earlier and accommodate for traveling within a very large city which sometimes will take an hour to get just a few short miles.

The Flamingo rooms include an electronic safe, clock radio with alarms, telephone with voicemail, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, data ports with high speed internet access, 24-hour room service, and laundry service.

Also, The Flamingo has several in house restaurants including Hamada of Japan, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, Paradise Garden Buffet, Steakhouse 46, Tropical Breeze Cafe, and Ventuno Restorante Cafe and Bar.

In order to host this Championship, we are required to fulfill a certain number of rooms.  Please help support this event by booking your rooms now with the Flamingo.

Partial Schedule of Key Events

Thursday:         Official Weigh-ins  from 1pm to 4pm.  Held in the Vista Room at the Flamingo
If you cannot make this due to travel arrangements please let us know.

Thursday night: Official Rules Meeting from 6pm to 9pm.  Held in the Vista Room

This three day Championship event will be held in the Vista Room at the Flamingo.  Times of events will follow as we get closer to the event.

Friday: New Grappling Division – Up to semi finals

Men’s Championship Team Division – Up to semi finals
Ladies Championship Team Division – Up to semi finals

Saturday:      Championship Team Event

Grappling event – Finals

Master’s Division Competition – Complete to Finals

Individual Weight Division Competition – up to semi Finals (Subject to Time)

Sunday:        Individual Weight Division Competition - Complete to Finals

Demonstration Event Finals (if completed on Saturday showcase winners) arranged through the   day

Sunday night: Awards Banquet from 6 pm to 10pm to be held in the Savoy Room

Banquet Price:  Will be determined after August 23, 2010 once we have a closer                       determination of the number of attendees.  Details on payment will be provided at this            time as well.
Plan on joining the celebration and festivities and congratulating all of your fellow                    participants and fighters.

Monday: Directors meeting.  9:00am.  Will be held in the Reno II Room.
